Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Tmux Term ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Tmux Term iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive your email address, your name (if you choose to share it), and a unique user identifier provided by Apple. We store this information to create and maintain your account.

Purchase information

If you purchase Tmux Term Lifetime, Apple's In-App Purchase system processes the transaction. We receive confirmation of the purchase from Apple and store a flag indicating you have lifetime access. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

SSH credentials and host configurations

SSH passwords, private keys, host addresses, and tmux session names never leave your device. They are stored locally in the iOS Keychain (for credentials) and local app storage (for host configurations). We have no access to them.

Diagnostic information

We do not currently collect crash reports, analytics, or behavioral tracking data. If we add this in the future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for consent where required.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account
  • To enforce your entitlement (trial period or lifetime access)
  • To respond to support requests you initiate

We do not use your information for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it for marketing.

3. Third-Party Services

Apple Sign In

Account creation and authentication use Apple's Sign In with Apple. Apple may share a private relay email address instead of your real email. We respect that choice.

Supabase

We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your account record (email, name, user ID, entitlement state) is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf.

Apple App Store

In-App Purchases are processed by Apple. Their Privacy Policy governs that transaction.

Servers you connect to

When you SSH into a server using Tmux Term, you communicate directly with that server. Tmux Term acts as a transport. We do not proxy, log, or inspect SSH traffic.

4. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account exists. If you request account deletion (see Section 6), we remove your account record from our database within 30 days. Backups are rotated within 90 days.

5. Security

SSH credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by iOS. Communication with our backend uses HTTPS. Database access is gated by row-level security: you can only access your own account data.

No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email support@tmuxterm.host.

7. Children

Tmux Term is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and the European Union, depending on where our infrastructure providers operate. We rely on the safeguards offered by those providers (including Apple and Supabase) for any cross-border transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
